Joint Action – Learning with and from one another
Thank you to all of those who joined us May 8-9, 2015 in Toronto for ARNA’s 3rd Annual Conference. It was a fantastic event with wonderful keynotes such as Emily Ozer and Budd Hall. Thank you to everyone who contributed and especially to our sponsors who were integral in making this, past and future events happen.
This is a beautiful collection of work that our Network members, Fellows of action research, shared during the ARNA 2015 Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in May 2015. The published work is both inspired by and extends the ARNA 2015 Conference theme “Joint action – learning with and from one another” beyond the physical space and time of the ARNA members gathering in Toronto in 2015. The authors are from Canada, Mexico, Mongolia, United Kingdom (UK), and United State of America (USA). They work within diverse context and settings. They extend our thinking about and engaging with action research by walking across methodological boundaries, seeking new ways to connect people, institutions and communities to share and to dialogue, exploring possibilities, honoring different voices, playing with meaning and re-presenting the richness of experiences using new genres and emerging methodologies – placing their texts in a context of action and positive change. We hope that you consider the ARNA Proceedings as an opportunity to engage in ongoing dialogue by reading the shared works on its pages, contacting authors, and participating in the ARNA Knowledge mobilization initiative. “Through a process of dialogue and opportunities we open ourselves to partners whose understandings differ from our own and through such engagement, new interpretations and [meanings] emerge” (Luce-Kapler, 2004, p. xiv).
