CARN Study Day

Wednesday, June 26, 2019 (8:45am – 11:45am)

The Lion and the Mouse (lelionetlasouris.com) will give a walking tour of the Champ des Possibles (champdespossibles.org), a biodiverse, post-industrial, renaturalizing green space in Mile End that has been the primary site for their play and urban forest school programs since 2013.

They will be joined by members of Les Amis du Champ des Possibles (ACDP), the citizens group that co-manages the green space with the Plateau-Mont-Royal burough.  The Lion and the Mouse will speak to tensions between protection and play in public spaces, as well as the development of their relationship with ACDP and the benefits of natural, unstructured play environments for children.

The tour will end with a loose parts play session. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with tour leaders regarding the interplay of research, practice, and knowledge mobilization within the work of The Lion and the Mouse and the Champ des Possibles.
